BRANDYWINE ZOO
BRANDYWINE ZOO
DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROL
We have been working at the Zoo for several years, dating back to 2012 to assist DNREC (Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control) in managing, maintaining and innovating the historical Brandywine Zoo. Originally constructed in the first decades of the 1900’s, the zoo was originally a drive-thru zoo featuring lions, tigers, and bears (Oh! My!) that could be admired from the safety of your vehicle.
Our recent projects at the Zoo included the construction of Lemur Lookout which is a netted exhibit featuring the lovable creatures that gained popularity from Discovery’s Planet Earth and a plethora of animated films from Disney and Pixar. The new Quarantine Building was also constructed through a separate project with DNREC. The Quarantine Building allows for more flexibility with the transfer and receiving of new animals at the zoo and promotes a cleaner and safer introduction to their new home!
